The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' Innovation Center recently announced the Accelerated Development Learning Program, a series of educational sessions across the nation for providers interested in forming accountable care organizations. Now, the center has scheduled the first three-day session for June 20-22 in Minneapolis.

"We invite all new or newly emerging ACOs to register a team of senior executives to participate," according to a CMS notice published on May 19. Each team should include two to four senior-level leaders including at least one with financial management responsibility and one with clinical responsibility. CMS also asks participants to attend future Web-based seminars and complete a full ACO implementation plan as part of an ongoing learning and evaluation program.

Faculty at each in-person session will include senior leaders from organizations that have developed many of the characteristics of an ACO, as well as other industry experts. Provider-based faculty for the Minneapolis event represent such organizations as Advocate Health Care, Dean Clinic, Everett Clinic, Fairview Health Services, Mount Auburn Cambridge Independent Practice Association, North Texas Specialty Physicians and St. John's Health System.

Registration, the agenda and additional details are available at https://acoregister.rti.org.
