The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives is seeking an experienced chief information officer to be its president and CEO, with long-time leader Richard Correll remaining as COO and responsible for daily operations.

CHIME represents health information technology leaders and its board has determined that the time has come for a CIO to prominently lead the organization and act as an ambassador to the industry. The position would be full-time. “The relevance of health information technology to every aspect of our industry is now unsurpassed, creating the nexus for CHIME to advance its mission, improve its organizational strength and continue to have a health policy leadership role,” according to a summary of the new position, available here.

The new president and CEO will report to the board and also serve on it. Correll says as CHIME has grown, so has its operational management functions, which he will focus on. The organization has started a national search and hopes to introduce the new president and CEO during the annual CHIME/HIMSS CIO Forum in March.
