Cerner Corp. will exhibit at the 2012 HIMSS Conference in Las Vegas for the first time since 2008, the company confirms.

Cerner stopped exhibiting after determining the show floor did not offer a good marketing environment, but has heard from clients that they want the company at the show. "Our clients have requested an opportunity to showcase our collective accomplishments in health care, and so we will be returning to the tradeshow floor for this year," says Zane Burke, executive vice president, in an e-mail to Health Data Management.

During the past three years, Cerner has participated in the Interoperability Showcase at HIMSS and sponsored educational programs and networking sessions. Cerner again will be in the Interoperability Showcase, will sponsor the Summit for Health Care Information and Financial Technology program and a physician breakfast, and be one of the sponsors of the EHR Achievement Award to honor Davies Award winners and HIMAA Analytics Stages 6 and 7 provider facilities.

The size of the Cerner booth has not yet been decided.
