The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology is seeking senior executives to serve on its voluntary board of trustees and board of commissioners.

Trustees have fiduciary, strategic, conflict management and senior management oversight responsibilities. Commissioners oversee development of electronic health records certification criteria development by voluntary multi-stakeholder work groups.

Chicago-based CCHIT is one of two organizations, along with Drummond Group Inc., selected thus far under authority of the HITECH Act to test and certify EHR products for supporting meaningful use requirements.

Applications for CCHIT's trustee and commissioner slots are being accepted through Oct. 15 for terms that begin in January. More information is available at cchit.org.
