The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology has unveiled three new electronic health records certification programs targeting obstetrics, oncology and clinical research.

The programs are part of the suite of CCHIT Certified programs that are separate from and more comprehensive than the company's EHR meaningful use certification programs. However, most CCHIT Certified products also are certified for meaningful use.

Vendors that piloted the new programs include digiChart, Greenway Medical and MDTablet for obstetrics; Allscripts, Glenwood Systems and MedSym for oncology; and Agastha, Cerner and Medical Communication System for clinical research. More information is available at cchit.org.
