Cardinal Health, Swisslog Align

Swisslog, a vendor of pharmacy automation systems for hospitals, and drug distributor Cardinal Health Inc. have signed a co-marketing agreement.

Dublin, Ohio-based Cardinal Health will integrate its distribution services with Denver-based Swisslog's technology. This will provide an automated inventory and medication management system from loading dock through the pharmacy to the bedside, according to the companies.

Swisslog sells PillPick, which packages, barcodes and dispenses medications; BoxPicker, an automated medication storage and retrieval system; ATP Packagers to package and barcode fast-moving oral solids; Beacon Pick-to-Light Shelving storage systems that guide picking and stocking with "light direction" and bar code verification; and Inventory Management Software that automates reordering of drugs directly with Cardinal Health.
