Health care benefits management software vendor Benefitfocus Inc. has acquired Benefit Informatics Inc., which provides a range of data management and analytics software to insurance companies, third-party administrators, brokers and self-insured employers. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.


Health care benefits management software vendor Benefitfocus Inc. has acquired Benefit Informatics Inc., which provides a range of data management and analytics software to insurance companies, third-party administrators, brokers and self-insured employers. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Tulsa, Okla.-based Benefit Informatics offers claims, trending, forecasting and financial data analytics applications, as well as a data warehouse. The company's clients serve 2.7 million consumers. Charleston, S.C.-based Benefitfocus has more than 327,000 employers, 59,000 brokers and 3,000 carrier representatives using its Web platform for benefit shopping, enrollment, management and data exchange. These clients, according to the vendor, serve more than 11 million consumers.
