The Camden Group, a healthcare business consultancy, has created a mobile app to enable providers to capture cycle times for clinical and non-clinical processes.

The app, called AccuTracker, applies Lean and Six Sigma principles to assist in identifying, tracking and improving workflows and electronic health record efficiencies. Cycle times can be captured via a smartphone or tablet in various environments, such as surgical, emergency, physician practices, urgent care centers and revenue cycle management, among others.

A module in the app tracks EHR mouse clicks, screen views and the amount of typing being done in the records system. The module also tracks how long providers spend on each component of a patient visit.

Over time, users will collect enough clinical and operational data to benchmark their performance against peer organizations, according to the consultancy. More information is available here.
