The medical reference and support Web site has launched an application for iPhones that walks a user through the particulars of a breast cancer pathology report.

These reports set the patient's treatment path and the "Breast Cancer Diagnosis Guide" application explains the terms in a pathology report and other tests. Users can input their own report results to receive treatment and research information specific to their diagnosis.

"This is profoundly important as breast cancer treatment and surveillance plans become more personalized," says Marisa Weiss, M.D., founder of and director of breast radiation oncology at Lenkenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pa. The guide is available at the Apple App Store.
