Amita Health picks R1 RCM for enterprisewide revenue cycle tools
In other implementations Alliance Community Hospital goes live on CommonWell for data exchange.
Here is Health Data Management’s weekly roundup of new health IT contract wins and go-lives:
- Amita Health has chosen R1 RCM as its revenue cycle management vendor for use by its 19 hospitals, 230 sites of care and 3,500 physicians in suburban Chicago. Amita Health and R1 have signed a deal calling for a 10-year agreement and expect to go live with services in the second half of this year. “R1 offers use the opportunity to combine our revenue cycle operations on an efficient, common platform,” says Mark Frey, president and CEO at Amita Health.
- Alliance (Ohio) Community Hospital has gone live on the interoperability services of CommonWell Health Alliance, a collaboration among health information technology vendors to cooperate in improving interoperability. Meditech assisted in deploying the interoperability services to seamlessly exchange patient information to improve patient care and outcomes.
- The West Virginia Board of Pharmacy will use the PMP Gateway integration platform of Appriss Health to provide NarxCare software to all prescribers and pharmacists across the state. NarxCare utilizes, analyzes and presents information from the state’s Controlled Substance Automated Prescription program and other data sources to help clinicians identify patients at risk for substance abuse, and it equips clinicians with analytics and other tools to help the patients. NarxCare also offers machine learning and artificial intelligence tools to establish patient risk scores and other information in a visually interactive format to help clinicians and pharmacists identify possible signs of addiction. The platform integrates with electronic health records, pharmacy systems and other clinical information systems and helps clinicians connect with patients.
- The Department of Veterans Affairs has given 1Vision authority to provide telehealth services to the VA. 1Vision services will be made available to enrolled veterans and family members. The VA is the nation’s largest healthcare delivery system serving 9 million veterans at 1,240 sites of care. Veterans in their home will be able to transmit data such as weight, blood pressure, blood glucose levels and other condition-specific information to a platform with an analytics engine that alerts a care coordinator to emerging health issues or concerning trends.
- Marquis Health Services, with 18 skilled nursing facilities in New England and the Mid-Atlantic region, will use telemedicine services from TripleCare during physician off-hours at two facilities—Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Beverly, Mass., and Oakland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Oakland, N.J. TripleCare physicians will conduct teleconsultations when necessary during weekends and holidays to determine whether a patient can be treated at the facility or should be transferred to a hospital. Another Marquis facility, Webster Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Rockland, Mass., is expected to adopt the remote telemedicine services in the third quarter of 2018.
