The American Medical Association is launching its annual "Heal that Claim" month in November with toolkits and Web seminars to help physicians adopt HIPAA financial and administrative transactions.

Web-based tools walk providers through the processes for getting started and using electronic funds transfer, remittance advice, claims submission, claims status, eligibility verification, acknowledgement, prior authorization and referral request transactions.

Web seminars cover the various transactions, as well as HIPAA 5010, ICD-10, e-billing for workers' compensation, physician profiling, selecting practice management systems, the National Health Insurer Report Card, and filing a complaint against an insurer, among other issues.
