Alameda Health enhances Medicaid managed care services

In other technology deployments, WakeMed to participate in clinical robotics research.

Here is Health Data Management’s weekly roundup of health information technology contracts and implementations.
  • Alameda Health System in California, with four hospitals in the Oakland region, has contracted with Conifer Health Solutions for a range of support services to improve administrative processes for the 33,000 members of its HeathPAC insurance plan. Vendor services include claims processing, referrals and authorizations, insurance eligibility, outcomes optimization and population health analytics. Conifer also will provide consulting services to assess care management processes to improve quality of care by aggregating, stratifying and designing outreach programs for high-risk members.
  • WakeMed Health, with three hospitals serving Raleigh, NC, has teamed with Corindus Vascular Robotics to develop a national center of excellence for clinical robotics research, including the training of interventional cardiologists on robotic-assisted percutaneous coronary interventions. The vendor’s CorPath GRX system, of which WakeMed has bought three units, includes a workstation with a 40-inch touchscreen to enhance visualization and robotic controls to guide catheters.

  • Coastal Imaging, a new organization that combined three radiology groups and 38 physicians serving four hospitals in central and southern New Jersey, selected Healthcare Administrative Partners as its revenue cycle vendor for outsourced billing, coding and practice management tools for physicians. Proven revenue cycle experience with some of the radiology groups before the merger and an information technology infrastructure to maximize billing, coding and collections processes were instrumental in the company getting the deal.
  • Upper Valley Medical Center north of Dayton, Ohio, is live with tele-ICU services using technology from Advanced ICU Care. The hospital is the first in the region and the first in the Premier Health System to implement such a program, according to Becky Rice, president at UMVC. “The partnership will be monitored by a Premier Health system-wide ICU team to explore the benefit of tele-ICU for the entire system,” she added.
