The American Health Information Management Association is offering a suite of online training sessions for physicians to prepare for clinical documentation using the ICD-10 code sets.

AHIMA has partnered with training firm ImplementHIT for the service, called Clinical Documentation for ICD-10 by Specialty: Principles and Practice. It includes a series of three-to-five-minute online modules that cover each clinical specialty’s most seen conditions, and targets a physician’s 10-to-20 most billed diagnoses.

“Training modules are specialty- and condition-specific and filled with case-based, real-life examples,” according to the association. “They were designed specifically for physicians and clinicians, and can be used as an efficient learning, reference or reinforcement tool.”

The modules also are available for follow-up training after ICD-10 implementation to answer questions physicians may have after starting to use the codes regularly. Information on purchasing the modules is available here.
