Aetna Inc. has expanded features available through its mobile health application introduced in 2010.

The app, called Aetna Mobile, now sits on a mobile application development platform from Kony Solutions of Orlando, Fla. Original functions enabled users to check the status of claims, access prescription drug pricing and order electronic ID cards, among other features.

The app now also supports, for Aetna members and non-members, access to an urgent care finder, the insurer’s provider directory to find in-network providers, and links to the public Web site. It runs on iPhone and Android devices.
