Denver-based Breakaway specializes in helping providers fully adopt electronic health records and maximize clinical and financial return on investment. The firm's PromisePoint simulator technology enables users to practice using an EHR--on desktops, laptops and tablets--just as they would in a hospital or office environment.
The acquisition complements ACS' electronic records selection, deployment, integration and support services. Providers that train on PromisePoint increase adoption rates up to 70 percent faster than the industry standard, according to the companies.
The Breakaway Group also conducts research to help providers stay abreast of new rules, upgrades and other challenges. Management and employees will stay with the company, according to ACS.
