Catholic Healthcare West wanted to provide its clinicians with fast and secure access to patient data. A clinical workflow assessment resulted in its DirectConnect clinical workstation, which leverages existing clinical content and IT infrastructure. This document describes Catholic Healthcare West's (CHW's) DirectConnect clinical workstation project, an initiative started in early 2007 as an effort to provide role-based, integrated access to clinical data.
