Date Held: December 9, 2009

As healthcare providers today weigh the benefits of moving to electronic health records (EHRs), most of them seek to fulfill at least two objectives: to slash the cost of providing healthcare and increase the quality of care.

The benefits of EHRs are clear and compelling: both providers and patients get access to a full set of relevant patient information that they can use to:

  • Make more informed, on-the-spot healthcare decisions
  • Eliminate time and money spent searching for records in isolated locations

Despite this, less than 20% of healthcare providers today have implemented a holistic EHR strategy which means that more than 80% are not capitalizing on the benefits of EHRs. This same 80% will miss out on federal stimulus incentives that include Medicare and Medicaid payments to healthcare providers who adopt EHR technologies.

Join this web seminar to learn how you can capture, transform and integrate health records and patient information that can be released into HIS, ERP, and ECM systems. Learn how you can take any type or format of health record and ingest the data in a simple, secure and auditable way with the highest possible quality.

A major success factor for accountable care organizations will be linking caregivers across the spectrum of care delivery. If history is any indication, that's going to be an industrywide struggle.
