Improving Cash Flow: Using I.T. to Ensure Maximum Payments

Web Seminar Center
Available On-Demand
Date Held: June 25, 2009

MultiCare Health System reaped $15.3 million in extra revenue last year for its four hospitals. How did it do it?

The delivery system uses contract management software to prepare detailed reports pinpointing payers’ underpayments. Armed with this powerful data, executives meet regularly with insurers to discuss underpayments, claims denials and other issues. It also prepares scorecards for each payer that it uses when negotiating the terms of new contracts.

In this complimentary web seminar, Ms. Mykland, administrator of revenue integrity, will describe her role in making sure hospitals charge accurately for services and payers reimburse properly. She'll provide details about MultiCare's approach to revenue cycle management, including making sure bills are 100% accurate before they go out the door. And she’ll describe a clinical documentation program that involves working with doctors to correctly document the severity and complexity of every patient's condition, which ensures appropriate reimbursement.

Speaker: Jenn Mykland, Administator of Revenue Integrity, MultiCare Health System, Tacoma, WA.
