Grace E. Terrell, M.D., MMM, FACP, FACPE

CEO

Cornerstone Health Care

Dr. Grace Terrell is a general internist and chief executive officer of Cornerstone Health Care, P.A. a multi-specialty medical group in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina with more than 300 providers and 1500 employees who practice at nine separate hospitals. Born in Siler City, North Carolina, she received her B.A. in English and Religion from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1983, where she was a Morehead scholar. She received her M.D. from Duke University in 1989 and completed an internship in pathology at Duke in 1989. She completed her residency training in internal medicine at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem I n1993. In 2000 she completed a Master’s in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

Dr. Terrell has served on many community boards and organizations including the Piedmont Triad Partnership Health Care Roundtable, the Guilford County Economic Workforce Development Board, the Community Clinic of High Point, the American College of Physician Executives, and the Board of Trustees of High Point Regional Health System. She is currently on the boards of the NC Shakespeare Festival, the High Point United Way, the High Point Chamber of Commerce, the North Carolina Medical Society ACO Task Force, and the Cornerstone Foundation. She is a Commissioner for the Certifying Commission of Health Information Technology, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a Fellow of the American College of Physician Executives. Hers was the first practice in North Carolina to achieve NCQA level 3 Physician Practice Connection recognition. Her professional interests include health care economics, preventative medicine, women’s health issues, diabetes, osteoporosis, and community health issues.

She and her husband Tim have two children, Robyn a freshman at UNC Chapel Hill, and Katy, a graduate of Duke University.
