ObamaCare: What Do You Need to Know?

We’ve been digging through the massive health reform bill (already coined “health care deform” by some wags) to find the kernels of legislation that likely will have an impact in the I.T. arena. Of course this is going to affect all of us personally and professionally in some way, be it changes in insurance coverage (perhaps), new business opportunities (likely) or higher taxes (most assuredly).

Of course this is going to affect all of us personally and professionally  in some way, be it changes in insurance coverage (perhaps), new business opportunities (likely) or higher taxes (most assuredly).

Now were past the point of first impressions, and Health Data Management is trying to understand the information needs of our audience. We have already reported on the HIPAA transaction operating rules tucked into the reform bill (click here or here) as well as some the likely I.T. developments from other passages in the bill (click here).

Health care reform will take years to execute. Right now everyone has more questions than answers. But what are your questions? The reason I ask is that SourceMedia, our parent company, has reporters and publications across the spectrum of business, reaching into banking, accounting, finance, employee benefits and insurance, to name a few. We are seeking ways to bring you information from across that spectrum—we’re looking for the intersections between those realms and health I.T. that matter most to you.

Send me an e-mail (greg.gillespie@sourcemedia.com) with your thoughts, or write your comments below. Feedback from our audience is going to help us shape our coverage and find the topics that are critical to health I.T. stakeholders. Look forward to hearing from you.
