Philadelphia-based Wolters Kluwer Health has traditionally been strong in the retail pharmacy space and now is targeting point-of-care in the hospital. The company in recent months bought Pharmacy OneSource, which sells software to hospital pharmacies covering clinical documentation and reporting to measure pharmacist interventions, scheduling, compliance and patient safety checklists, medication tracking, formulary management, and drug interaction checking and dosing guidelines, among others.

Hudson, Ohio-based Lexi-Comp provides drug information and medical reference content via the Internet or mobile computing devices at the point of care in the pharmacy and on the floors. The company also offers patient medication leaflets in 19 languages. Lexi-Comp has been a partner of Wolters Kluwer Health by providing content to the UpToDate decision support system.
