Baptist Goes Cellular

Baptist Healthcare Services Inc. in Louisville, Ky., has implemented voice and data cellular systems in several of its facilities.

The delivery system is using the InterReach Fusion systems from Minneapolis-based ADC Network Solutions. This will enable physicians to use smart phones and wireless PDAs to access patient records and updated test results, with an eventual goal of inputting chart notes.

Baptist Healthcare has put the technology in three community hospitals and an expansion of its Baptist East facility. It plans to also offer the service at a new surgical outpatient facility in Louisville.
