VHA Inks Vendor Contracts

Provider services firm VHA Inc. has struck new deals with two information technology vendors.

The Irving, Texas-based organization will market inpatient and ambulatory clinical and financial information systems at a discounted price from NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Horsham, Pa. VHA members also will have access to the vendor's educational programs, as well as services to help identify and apply for grant funding.

CDW Healthcare will provide products and services to the VHA-supported Mid-America Service Solutions consolidated service center, which serves 32 hospitals in Kansas and Missouri. The hospitals use their purchasing power to buy more than $500 million in goods and services annually. The Vernon Hills, Ill.-based vendor will offer medical imaging, point-of-care and telemedicine applications; communications, information security, business continuity and server virtualization services; managed and hosted services; and technical expertise.
