Vermont HIE to use Medicity to link with VA

In other implementations, Pratt Regional adopts business intelligence platform.

Here is Health Data Management’s weekly roundup of health information technology contracts and go-lives:

Vermont Information Technology Leaders, which operates the state’s health information exchange, has gone live on the Veterans Health Information Exchange using connectivity software from Medicity. The veterans’ exchange offers a virtual lifetime electronic health record. The new connectivity will aid providers in and out of the VA to share information for more than 48,600 veterans in Vermont.

Pratt Regional Medical Center in Kansas is an early adopter of a new business intelligence platform from community hospital vendor CPSI. The hospital is one of six clients involved in developing the platform, and CPSI will be introducing population health management products during the next two years.

Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Ind., has picked Change Healthcare, which includes components of McKesson Technology Solutions, as its enterprise imaging partner. McKesson radiology technology and workflow applications from Conserus will replace legacy systems and ease workflow across PACS systems used by the hospital and its ancillary providers, enabling clinicians to access and share images across the enterprise.

Palmetto Proactive Healthcare in South Carolina, a direct primary care practice in which patients pay $60 a month for preventive care, will implement a platform for automating patient referrals from ReferWell. The platform helps physicians quickly book appointments for patients with specialists that accept a patient’s insurance and can perform the needed procedure, which can improve patient compliance versus traditional means of using phones or faxes to set up referrals.
