Physician practice management and electronic health records software vendor AdvancedMD Inc. has named Eric Morgan as president and CEO.

Morgan succeeds John Trzeciak, who served as interim CEO since private equity firm Francisco Partners acquired Salt Lake City-based AdvancedMD in January. Trzeciak will continue to serve on the company’s board and as an advisor to Francisco Partners.

Morgan most recently served as president and CEO of StatCom LLC, an Alpharetta, Ga.-based vendor of patient flow management software. He also was one of the first employees at Lawson Software’s health care division and eventually became executive vice president and general manager of the division.
