HealthPort was formed a year ago after Companion Technologies acquired SDS, also known as Smart Document Solutions. Labedz succeeds Frank Murphy, who led SDS and agreed to temporarily lead HealthPort after the acquisition.
Labedz also serves as president of Thurston Group LLC, an equity investment firm in Chicago, which with ABRY Partners acquired Companion Technologies in January 2007. Labedz led Companion Technologies for several months after the acquisition. More information is available at healthport.com.
