Health payer software vendor The TriZetto Group Inc. will acquire St. Louis-based claims clearinghouse Gateway EDI in a deal announced at HIMSS11 in Orlando.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Gateway is a long-established clearinghouse serving 70,000 physicians. The acquisition will enable TriZetto to offer an integrated end-to-end payment information product. “The combined platforms of the two companies will give providers direct real-time access to payment information for almost half of the insured U.S. population, which is served by TriZetto systems,” according to a statement from the vendors.
Gateway’s leadership will remain in place and will operate as an independent subsidiary, according to TriZetto.
