Payer software vendor The TriZetto Group Inc. has introduced personal health records software automatically populated with pertinent claims data from health plan sponsors using the company's administrative systems.

Populated data includes information on lab results, examinations, diagnoses, surgeries and other treatments, and the names of providers who have treated the patient. Consumers can enter additional information such as family history, emergency contacts, medications and dosages, allergies, immunizations and vital signs. The PHR will be portable, meaning consumers can take it with them if they change health plans. The PHR can download to a physician when the office staff requests confirmation of a patient's insurance eligibility.

The PHR now is available to health plan users of TriZetto's Facets administration system, which contains data on 90 million individuals, according to the Newport Beach, Calif.-based vendor. The company expects the record to be available to QNXT users covering 16 million plan members by summer 2010, and to QicLINK users covering seven million members during the first half of 2011.
