In a move aimed at addressing the shortage of nurses, Tenet Healthcare Corporation says it will deploy talent assessment software from PeopleAnswers across its 49 hospitals and 57 surgery centers nationwide. Tenent has used the software in conjunction with hiring nurses since 2008 at select locations. It will now expand its use of the software, which assesses and matches nursing candidates with department openings. In studies thus far, Tenent says the software has helped reducing nursing turnover by nearly half. It compared nurse retention for those hired in conjunction with the tool versus others who had not. “Tenet facilities that have used PeopleAnswers over the last 18 months have improved quality of hire and reduced nursing turnover by 47 percent,” according to a statement from Joe Gage, Tenent’s vice president of human resources.
