HDM Breaking News, March 13, 2008
In-home remote monitoring technologies can support a growing trend to refocus patient care away from acute care and ambulatory settings and into the home, according to a new report from the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions, New York. Such technologies also can save $400 billion annually, report authors predict.
We believe the home is an important place to start, according to the report. The effective application of in-home technologies leads to increased medication adherence, reduced avoidable post-acute complications, and improved self-care management of chronic conditions.

A recent Deloitte online survey of 3,000 adults found strong support for in-home technologies that connect patients with their caregivers. For survey results, click here.
