Surgical Firm Adds Drug Database

Surgical Information Systems Inc. has licensed and integrated the National Drug Data File Plus database and associated software of First DataBank into its perioperative information systems.


Surgical Information Systems Inc. has licensed and integrated the National Drug Data File Plus database and associated software of First DataBank into its perioperative information systems.

Additional functionality currently available in the surgical systems includes drug screening, pediatric dose range checking and medication reconciliation, according to Alpharetta, Ga.-based SIS.

Embedded software from South San Francisco-based First DataBank also enables SIS clients to document medication information in a Continuity of Care Document to meet coordination of care requirements under the economic stimulus package.
