Riverside to Subsidize I.T. for Docs

Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Ill., is testing integrated practice management/electronic health records software with five independent physicians, with the intent to offer it to 100 other physicians in the community.

The 336-bed hospital is testing the Practice Partner software of San Francisco-based McKesson Corp. The hospital plans to subsidize physician use of the software under relaxed provisions of the Stark Act.

The hospital will integrate the software with inpatient information systems. More information is available at mckesson.com and riversidehealthcare.org.
