Misys Healthcare Systems, engaged in a licensing dispute, continues to have the right to sell its Misys MyWay practice management and electronic health records application, according to a company spokesperson.
On Aug. 13, the Raleigh, N.C.-based vendor announced receipt of a letter from iMedica Corp. terminating an agreement to market the software. Misys a year ago licensed iMedicas software, rebranded it as Misys MyWay and sells it to small practices.
While Misys has publicly announced only two sales of the software--its first deal and a particularly large contract--it has sold more than 800 MyWay licenses, according to the spokesperson. Misys continues to work with Carrolton, Texas-based iMedica to resolve the issue, he adds.
