The Obama Administration has released $851 million in stimulus law grant funding to more than 1,500 community health centers across the nation. The funds are for capital improvements, including information technology.

More than 400 centers will use funds to adopt or expand use of electronic health records. The capital improvement money is the third round of stimulus funds for community health centers.

Some $155 million previously was committed to establish 126 new health centers, and $338 million was awarded to support providing care to an additional two million patients over the next two years.
