The National Quality Forum has endorsed nine measures to help providers assess the efficiency and standardization of current HIT systems and identify areas where additional HIT tools can be used.
The forum is a not-for-profit membership organization created to develop a national strategy for health care quality measurement and reporting.
The measures cover such areas as electronic prescribing, electronic health records interoperability, care management, quality registries and the medical home model.
