The Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel is seeking comment on six draft interoperability specifications. HITSP is a group of industry stakeholders working under a federal government contract to facilitate the development of data standards.

The specifications, which could become national standards to support the electronic exchange of health information, cover such issues as transfer of care, remote monitoring of medical devices and public health information. The documents available for review and comment are:

* Personalized Healthcare Interoperability Specification (IS 08);

* Consultations and Transfers of Care Interoperability Specification (IS 09);

* Immunizations and Response Management Interoperability Specification (IS 10);

* Public Health Case Reporting Interoperability Specification (IS 11);

* Patient-Provider Secure Messaging Interoperability Specification (IS 12); and

* Remote Monitoring Interoperability Specification (IS 77).

The documents and a tracking system to submit comments are available at hitsp.org. Comments are requested by Oct. 24.
