The Health Level Seven standards development organization has named seven new members to its advisory council.
Ann Arbor, Mich.-based HL7 created the council four years ago to increase stakeholder representation beyond its board of directors.
The new members are Michael Fitzmaurice of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality; Harry Reynolds of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina; Helga Rippen, M.D.; Nina Schwenk, M.D., of the Mayo Clinic; Jeremy Thorp of the National Health Services Connecting for Health program; John Tooker, M.D. of the American Council of Physicians; and Charlene Underwood of Siemens Healthcare.
Outgoing advisory council members include: Carl Dvorak of Epic Systems Corp.; Ian Ferrier of Bogart Delafield Ferrier LLC; Mark Frisse of the Vanderbilt Center for Better Health; C. Martin Harris of Cleveland Clinic; Tim Jones of the National Health Service; Penelope Lie of Oracle Corp.; Janet Marchibroda of eHealth Initiative; and Andrew Updegrove of Gesmer Updegrove LLP.
