Nuance Communications Inc. has released Dragon Medical 10, the latest version of its real-time medical speech recognition software.

The new release recognizes dictation nearly twice as fast as the previous version, the company claims, and is 20% more accurate. It offers new medical vocabularies, improved integration with electronic health records, enhanced regional accent support and customizable commands, including voice shortcuts.

More than 70,000 caregivers now use Dragon Medical, according to Burlington, Mass.-based Nuance.
