Ulleval University Hospital in Oslo, Norway, will implement front-end speech recognition software for use throughout the facility by more than 1,000 physicians.
The hospital will use the SpeechMagic software of Royal Philips Electronics, Amsterdam. The hospital decided to use the software across all departments after its deployment in the radiology department reduced report turnaround times by 96%, according to the vendor.
Physicians dictation will be converted to text within the patients electronic health record. Having faster access to patient information will improve patient quality and safety, according to Jens Grogaard, clinical manager at Ulleval University Hospital.
