The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the recent health care reform law, "have completely changed the landscape for our company," says Gerard Dab, chair of the Las Vegas-based company.

VisualMed originally served the hospital market before expanding to physician practices in 2009. The company now has four hospitals and six practices live on its software, according to Dab. The hospitals are Physician Hospital of El Paso, Texas; Southwest Regional Rehabilitation Center in Battle Creek, Mich.; Kansas Surgery and Recovery Center in Wichita; and Jewish General Hospital in Montreal.
