Sharp Healthcare in San Diego will implement the Community Record application of Allscripts to provide a unified patient record to clinicians in hospitals and affiliated practices.

The application uses the health information exchange software of Pittsburgh-based dbMotion, enhanced via a joint development effort by the two vendors. The enhancement enables discrete data to be seamlessly integrated into Allscripts' electronic health records products with further improvements in workflow, according to the Chicago-based company.

Sharp Healthcare includes four acute care and three specialty hospitals with 2,400 affiliated physicians. More information is available at sharp.com and allscripts.com.
