U.S. Senators Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) in recent years have been pressing the Department of Health and Human Services to use tools in the Affordable Care Act to fight health care fraud. Unsatisfied with responses, the senators, who are members of the Finance Committee, again on March 28 sent a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius asking that she use her authority to impose an enrollment moratorium on new Medicare providers and suppliers in areas where there may be a significant potential for fraud:
