Script Cap Aids in Compliance

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Med Time Technology Inc. has introduced a prescription vial cap with software to aid patient adherence to medication regimens.

"The Pill Timer" flashes and beeps when it is time for a patient to take medication.

The cap was designed to be compatible with products from Rexam Prescription, a major manufacturer of vials.

Henry Ford Health System in Detroit is an early adopter of the product and is using it to improve compliance rates among the chronically ill. More information is available at pill-timer.com.
