HIMSS Offering 12 I.T. Scholarships

The HIMSS Foundation of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society in Chicago is offering 12 college scholarships totaling $64,000 for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The scholarships are designed for undergraduate and graduate student members of HIMSS who are studying health information technology and management systems. The application period opened on Aug. 15 and closes on Oct. 30.

The foundation is funding four $5,000 scholarships. Two software vendors are sponsoring $7,000 scholarships and one vendor is offering a $5,000 award. Five regional HIMSS chapters are sponsoring $5,000 scholarships.

Scholarship recipients also will receive an expense-paid trip to the 2009 HIMSS Conference and Exhibition in Chicago. For more information and the application, click here.
