Api Buys Workload Analysis App

Hartford, Wis.-based api software Inc. has purchased an application that's designed to measure clinical workload and project the number of hours and skill mix required to meet it. Acquisition terms were not disclosed.

The Expert Nurse Estimation Patient Classification System, from Kathy Malloch & Associates, a Glendale, Ariz.-based health care consulting firm, requires caregivers to rate the complexity of care for each of their patients. The application offers eight categories each with five levels from which caregivers can choose for the rating. It then analyzes the rating data to estimate appropriate staffing levels.

ENEPCS can be used to help health care organizations meet state and federal staffing regulations. API will enable its customers to use the application with its flagship ActiveStaffer staffing and scheduling system.
