Robinson to Lead Microsoft Health & Life Sciences

Microsoft Corp. has named Michael Robinson as general manager of its U.S. Health & Life Sciences unit, and has promoted Dennis Schmuland to the new position of chief health strategy officer.


Microsoft Corp. has named Michael Robinson as general manager of its U.S. Health & Life Sciences unit, and has promoted Dennis Schmuland to the new position of chief health strategy officer.

Robinson, formerly Microsoft's general manager for public sector activities in the Middle East and Africa, succeeds Brian Scott, who passed away in December 2010. Schmuland has been at Microsoft for a decade and most recently was national director of health plan industry solutions.

Robinson will lead the Health & Life Sciences sales team to market the breadth of Microsoft's products. He'll work with Peter Neupert, corporate vice president for the group, which is responsible for the Amalga and HealthVault products.
