In a notice March 10 in the Federal Register, NIH also announced it will accept comments on the policy through March 17 in advance of a public meeting scheduled for March 20. Further, NIH in March will publish in the Federal Register a request for information asking for additional comments on its public access policy and the effectiveness of it.
Investigators whose research is funded by NIH must submit electronic versions of final, peer-reviewed manuscripts to the Library of Medicines PubMed Central database. More information on the revised policy is available at http://publicaccess.nih.gov.
