Diagnostic imaging centers operator RadNet Inc., which in early December closed its acquisition of PACS vendor eRAD Inc., now has purchased teleradiology firm Imaging on Call LLC.

Los Angeles-based RadNet owns 198 imaging centers. Imaging on Call is accredited for preliminary and final reads with its contracted radiologists holding licenses in 28 states and Washington, D.C.

RadNet already has about 350 contracted radiologists and believes the acquisition gives it more potential teleradiology resources than any other company, says Howard Berger, M.D., president and CEO.

Under acquisition terms, RadNet paid $5.5 million for Poughkeepsie, N.Y.-based Imaging on Call, and could pay another $2.5 million in 2011 if performance milestones are met. RadNet expects Imaging on Call to initially add about $10 million in annual revenue.

More information is available at imagingoncall.net and radnet.com.
