Version 10 of the Quantim Coding software from QuadraMed Corp. enables clients to test ICD-10 interface transactions with live encounters while also using the current ICD-9 codes.
The dual coding approach enables providers to analyze comparative data between the two code sets. St. Joseph's Healthcare in Paterson, N.J., and Opelousas (La.) General Health are early adopters of the new version.
The software helps prepare staff for the transition to ICD-10 and provides tools to simulate current and future changes related to the transition, says Denise Bino, director of medical records at St. Joseph's.
