Program Prepares Covered Entities for Federal HIPAA Privacy/Security Audits
Information security consultancy CynergisTek and law firm Davis Wright Tremaine LLP have jointly developed a program to prepare health care organizations for the HHS Office for Civil Rights HIPAA Audit Program to check compliance with the privacy and security rules.
Information security consultancy CynergisTek and law firm Davis Wright Tremaine LLP have jointly developed a program to prepare health care organizations for the HHS Office for Civil Rights’ HIPAA Audit Program to check compliance with the privacy and security rules.
The program includes lessons CynergisTek learned while working with one of 20 organizations selected for an audit during OCR’s pilot program, along with Davis Wright Tremaine’s expertise in health information security law.
Features of the program, called the HIPAA Audit Readiness and Response Solution Portfolio, include an audit tool kit, readiness training program, response readiness exercise, privacy and security policy review, privacy and security policy and operational audits, security risk assessment, privacy and security program design and remediation, a mock OCR privacy and security audit, and real-time audit and investigation assistance.
